Who We Are

The story behind the Last Man Standing Karaoke Contest.

The Last Man Standing Karaoke Contest was first organized in the Philadelphia region in 2003. Periodically organized multiple times over the years, it has grown into a beloved tradition that brings performers and crowds together for an unforgettable night of music and competition.

The concept of the Last Man Standing Contest was created by John Durkin of All Around Sound Entertainment. His vision was simple: build a karaoke competition that does not just reward a powerful voice, but celebrates the full package — talent, diverse music knowledge, and a little bit of luck.

Every round tests more than singing ability. Contestants draw from a wide range of genres and eras, and the luck of the draw keeps every performance — and every audience — on its toes. It is that blend of skill, knowledge, and chance that has kept the Last Man Standing Contest coming back, year after year.

Starting in 2026, the Last Man Standing Contest is organized as a fundraiser for the National Finalist for the USKA Karaoke Cup — so every performance now helps send a deserving singer to the national stage.
